The Nurse-Lead program is an EU project in which leading nursing professors from six different nursing science departments or schools of nursing in Europe collaborate to realize the project objectives.
Nurse-Lead offers a 1½ year program aimed at doctoral nursing students and postdoctoral nurses, through which they:
This will lead to an increased pool of transnational nursing leaders who have strong competencies in leadership, research and education.

Programme and themes
The symposium will bring together the Nurse-Lead fellows and chairs as well as nursing scientists from various European countries to discuss the topic “Competent Leadership in Nursing Science” and proceeds of the Nurse-Lead project. Professor Hester C. Klopper PhD, MBA, HonsD, FANSA, FAAN, ASSAf Deputy Vice Chancellor Stellenbosch University South Africa and former president van Sigma Theta Tau International will discuss “Global Leadership in Nursing”. Also, Professor Annie Topping, RN, PhD, FHEA, from the University of Birmingham will share her knowledge on “Clinical – Academic positions”. There will be parallel interactive sessions and group discussion with Nurse-Lead fellows and nurse scientists presenting on the conference themes: leadership and professional development, mentoring experiences, building bridges between research and clinical practice and joint position for nurse scientists.
